Newport Duty Station

Station Home | About Us | Research | Products | Partnerships | Staff | Directions

In 2010, a duty station was established in Newport, Oregon, on the campus of Oregon State University’s Hatfield Marine Science Center. It is located in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency building, benefiting from collaboration with other science institutions in the central coast region. Research at the Newport Duty Station focuses on the impacts of climate change and sea level rise on estuarine and near coastal environments, and identifying species at risk in those changing environments.

Additionally, the Newport Duty Station provides software development and computer programming expertise to several national and international programs including The National Atlas of the United States and the North Pacific Non-Indigenous Species Information System (PICES-NISIS).
