Mr. Evans is an Electronics Technician with the Western Fisheries Research Center, Columbia River Research Laboratory, Cook, Washington. His research has focused on examining the movements, distribution, and behavior of juvenile anadromous salmonids near hydroelectric dams with radio telemetry. Mr. Evans specializes in the use of state-of-the-art radio telemetry techniques to measure the effects of various dam operating conditions and structural modifications on passage and behavior of juvenile salmonids. He is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of sophisticated monitoring equipment at hydroelectric dams and in-river locations, quality assurance of data collected, and quantitative and qualitative analysis of large data sets. Additional duties include providing technical assistance with electronic related issues to his section and the laboratory.
