Email: dena_gadomski@usgs.gov
M.S. 1983. Biological Oceanography, Oregon State University. Currently, Research Fishery Biologist, USGS Columbia River Research Laboratory, Cook, WA. Past positions include Curatorial Assistant at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, and Fisheries Scientist with Occidental College, Los Angeles, where she studied the California halibut.
Gadomski's career has focused on field and laboratory studies of the ecology of larvae and juveniles of marine and freshwater fishes. Additionally, she has studied fish feeding ecology and predator-prey dynamics. Gadomski is currently involved in projects describing species assemblages, and temporal and spatial distributions of larval, juvenile, and adult fishes in reservoirs and free-flowing reaches of the Columbia River. She is part of a team assessing physical and biological factors which influence the ecology and survival of white sturgeon in the Columbia River Basin. As part of this project, she is principal investigator for a laboratory study examining size vulnerability of white sturgeon larvae and juveniles to various fish predators.
