B.A Geography with a minor in GIS earned from Western Washington University (WWU) located in Bellingham, Washington. Currently a Geographer and GIS Analyst for the U.S. Geological Survey's Columbia River Research Lab (CRRL), Cook, Washington. Past positions include Cryptologic Technician Maintenance, United States Navy.
Thomas Batt began his career with the United States Navy doing various electronic maintenance tasks at stations around the world. After his discharge from the navy Tom attended school at WWU. Upon graduation, Tom started work as a geographer at CRRL. Past-completed projects include converting pre-impoundment mylar maps of The Bonneville, The Dalles, John Day, and McNary reservoirs, and the BIGSAM tool.
Present projects include the Water Quality of the Lower Columbia and Willamette rivers and providing GIS data for the Bonneville Community Dynamics. Other tasks include providing RTK data collection and sidescan sonar mosaics of various river areas.
